What Is a Cheap VPS? VPS vs. VDS
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is an independent server carved out of a physical machine through virtualization, with its own operating system, IP address and root access. On a VPS, CPU and network resources are shared with other VPSs on the same host and balanced by fair use, which keeps the price low. A VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server), by contrast, reserves CPU and RAM exclusively for you, with guaranteed higher performance. A cheap VPS is ideal for always-on but light workloads such as websites, VPNs, bots and test environments. For projects that need guaranteed, consistent performance we recommend our Cloud VDS plans.
